These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Bifrost Drive, provided by Webble — Bifrost Drive (“Bifrost Drive,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By installing or using Bifrost Drive, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Bifrost Drive is desktop software that connects storage accounts and servers you control or are authorized to access, and presents them through operating-system filesystem integrations. Features and platform availability may change as the project develops.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. You may connect only accounts, systems, files, and credentials you own or are authorized to use. If you use Bifrost Drive for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. License and ownership
Bifrost Drive and its product identity are owned by Webble and its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the application for its intended purpose. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses.
4. Your accounts and data
You retain ownership of your data. You are responsible for your storage-provider accounts, credentials, permissions, fees, quotas, backups, and compliance obligations. Bifrost Drive is not a backup service, and mounting or caching remote files does not replace an independent backup strategy.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Bifrost Drive to access systems without authorization, distribute malware, violate law or third-party rights, bypass provider restrictions, interfere with services, or expose credentials belonging to another person. You must not disable TLS certificate or SSH host verification in a way that puts other users or systems at risk.
6. Third-party services
Bifrost Drive interoperates with services such as Google Drive, Amazon S3, SFTP servers, WebDAV servers, FTP servers, SMB shares, GitHub, and operating-system credential services. Those services are independent of us and are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and fees. We are not responsible for changes or outages in third-party services.
7. Platform and beta limitations
Windows is the primary release target. Linux functionality may be labeled early access and can have read-only filesystem limitations. Signed public macOS distribution is not currently available. Experimental or preview functionality may contain defects, change incompatibly, or be withdrawn.
8. File operations and conflicts
Remote writes, deletes, moves, copies, synchronization, caching, and conflict resolution can alter data. Review connection settings and conflict choices carefully. You are responsible for maintaining backups and verifying that a provider supports the operations you request.
9. Updates
Bifrost Drive may check GitHub for signed updates and may offer to download and install them. You can disable automatic update popups in the application settings. Continuing to use an outdated version can expose you to unresolved security or compatibility issues.
10. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bifrost Drive is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Webble and Bifrost Drive contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, business, or goodwill arising from the software or third-party services.
12. Termination
You may stop using and uninstall Bifrost Drive at any time. We may restrict access to services we operate if necessary to address abuse, security, or legal requirements. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product changes. Updated Terms take effect when published with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be announced through project or release channels.
14. Governing terms
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Webble’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
